Objectives & History

Winning with Weymes:
Proven by JUST JOEY (Black Type) in year 2006. 6 starts 2 Firsts, 2 seconds, (including Hillary Needler Listed) and 1sixth. 2007 Jim Martin 2 starts so far, 1 first and 1 fourth. Ginger Pickle 4 starts so far 1 first and 2 thirds.    

Rosemarys Racing was started with the purchase of Just Joey at Doncaster in October 2005. John Weymes was approached to train her, while adding Mamora Reef to the partnership. The history speaks for itself. Just Joey: showed promise from the start and went on to win her 1st race at Warwick. Her character was such that we decided to enter her for the Hillary Needler at Beverly, where she came a very good 2nd. (gaining her Black Type). She then ran at Royal Ascot, followed by another win and a 2nd. Mamora Reef after showing promise didn’t do quite so well, only gaining a 3rd. in a blanket finish. Just Joey after wintering in Leicestershire, is now back in Training, and is showing promise for an early race, from which we will evaluate how she has wintered and what her form is likely to be for 2007.
 Mamora Reef: (follow our policy to just keep horses that we felt would give us racing results), was sold to Sweden, as we felt she hadn’t the potential to train on.
Autumn 2006 saw the purchase of Jim Martin, Ginger Pickle and Filthygeorgeous at the Doncaster Sales. Both Jim Martin and Ginger Pickle have won and been placed in races, as 2 year olds.

The horse are in training with  John Weymes at his Stable in Coverham, North Yorkshire, on the edge of the Middleham Gallops. Johns is a small friendly yard, run by him and his partner Kirsty Buckle. To which owners, by arrangement of a phone call, are always welcome, either just to visit or view their horses on the Gallops.
